Sedona Bike Rentals

How It All Works

Trail Lovers utilizes local third-party bike rental companies to furnish your bike rentals purchased for Sedona mountain biking tours, clinics, and/or lessons. If you have your own bike, then you're more than welcome to use it during your ride to save on the rental upgrade fees. We would highly recommend it!!

For those who will be selecting any of our bike rental upgrades, we use the following Sedona based MTB rental companies:

  • Thunder Mountain Bikes: They're centrally located in West Sedona and near many of our tours' locations to reduce drive times during your experience. They have an awesome selection of bikes to choose from for riders of all abilities, sizes, and ages. Here's a link to their Rental Bike Damage Policy.

  • Absolute Bikes: They're located 25 minutes from Uptown Sedona in Village of Oak Creek and 35 minutes away from West Sedona.  While getting to them will take a slightly longer drive time if you're in Uptown/West Sedona, they have a wonderful team of mechanics, and you will not be disappointed with their fleet of bikes. By default, this is our back-up option due to the additional logistics needed to rent from them, and in an effort to streamline our experiences. Here's a link to their Rental Bike Damage Policy.

Bike Rental Prices for Our MTB Experiences

  • Kids Full Suspension Bike, Adds $50/ Rider
  • Standard Full Suspension Bike, Adds $80/Rider
  • Premium Full Suspension Bike, Adds $100/Rider
  • Dream Full Suspension Bike, Adds $130/Rider

All Rentals Include

Rental pick-up, rental transportation, helmet, knee pads, flat kit, pump, extra tube, bike repair kit, and rental bike damage coverage. Please note, you can add rental(s) at check-out when you're reserving over the phone or online. Here's a link to Reserve Your Outing Now.

What to Know About Your Bike Rental

A rental day is considered 9AM until 6PM (not 24 hours). The bicycle shall be returned no later than 6PM on the due date or be subject to an additional one day charge. Failure to return the bicycle within 72 hours of the due date shall constitute theft under the Arizona Revised Statues and subject renter to prosecution under A.R.S. section 13-1806.

Cancellation Policy for Your Bike Rental

  • More Than 24 Hours Notice: All reservation canceled with more than 24 hours notice will incur a 10% cancellation fee. Reservations must be cancelled by 9AM the day before the scheduled rental.
  • Less Than 24 Hours Notice: All reservations canceled with less than 24 hours notice will receive no refunds whatsoever. Please note, 24 hours are defined as 9AM the day before the scheduled rental.
  • Changes to Your Reservation: All changes that result in a refund will incur a 10% change fee on the refunded amount for the rental. There is no charge for changes that do not require a refund. No refunds will be given if the rental is returned early or picks the bike up late.
  • Exclusions: Extreme weather conditions as follows: large amounts of rainfall that make riding dangerous and could cause trail damage, accumulating snow, or prohibitive physical injury.

What To Know About Usage Rules of Your Bike Rental

Your bike rental shall only be operated while wearing, at a minimum an ANSI or other certified helmet. No bicycle shall be operated by anyone under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, hallucinogens, or any other substance, regardless of its being prohibited or permitted by law. The renter acknowledges and agrees that the bicycle shall only be used in a safe and reasonable manner and in compliance with this all rules and regulations set forth by the rental company. The renter acknowledges full understanding of the operation of the rental bicycle. The renter shall not use or operate the bicycle in any unsafe manner or in an area where the renter, the public, spectators, or property (including the bicycle) can be damaged or endangered. The renter further agrees that no one except the renter shall use the bicycle. The renter shall not modify the bicycle, other than reasonable and necessary adjustments to ensure a proper fit and shall immediately discontinue any use in the event of a malfunction. The renter assumes full responsibility for loss or or damage to the bicycle resulting from the acts of the renter, acts of God, or the acts of other third parties.

What to Know About The Charges for Your Rental Bike

In the event of any damages or additional charges, the renter authorizes the rental company to charge such amount(s) to the credit/debit card used to secure their reservation with Trail Lovers. The renter waives the right to notice if collection of any unpaid balance becomes necessary. The renter further agrees to pay all costs of collection or enforcement of these unpaid charge including,  without limitation, reasonable attorney's fees, incurred by rental company. Any amounts which remain unpaid for a period of thirty days shall accrue interest at the rate of 18%.

Upon receiving your rental, your guide and the bike rental company will assist you with an inspection of the rental to check that it is in a good operable condition. The bicycle is to be returned and in the same condition as when rented, reasonable wear and tear excepted. Failure to return your bicycle in an operable condition will result in the imposition of the following charges:

  • Labor shop rates of $55/Hour
  • Replacement parts are assessed at bike rental facility
  • Total replacements are assessed at bike rental facility

What to Know About Your Rental Bike Damage Protection

Rental Bike Damage Protection (RBDP) is included with every rental free of charge and as otherwise outlined below. In the event of you damaging your rental bike, charges shall be determined by the repair technician/mechanic who evaluates the bicycle’s condition upon its return.

The Renter’s liability for damages under the RBDP shall be based on the total retail cost of the repairs and labor and adjusted as described below:

  1. Up to $100: no additional charge to the Renter.
  2. $101 and up: Renter pays fifty percent (50%) of total cost (for example, a $900 repair bill would be reduced to $450).

Renter acknowledges and agrees that this RBDP is not an insurance product and has not been evaluated, endorsed, or regulated by any governmental entity and/or agency, but is instead a contract between the parties to allocate the costs in the event of damage to the Bicycle.

What to Know About Releasing Liability for Your Bike Rental

The following will be featured on waivers you will be asked to sign presented by both Trail Lovers Excursions LLC and any of our associated bike rental tour companies. If you do not consent to any of the following, we will not be able to rent a bike to you through any of our available vendors and you will need to furnish your own bike for your activity.

Please review the following terms and conditions for your proposed mountain bike rental and beware you will be waiving all liability for your rental from Trail Lovers Excursions LLC and the associated rental company responsible for furnishing your bike:

  • Renter certifies that renter is in sufficiently good health for such bicycle rental activity and agrees to personally satisfy himself/herself as to the operating condition of the bicycle and the safety of the terrain and it's acceptability for riding.
  • Renter represents and understands that bicycling is an inherently risky activity which involves serious risk of personal injury, death, illness, disease, physical or mental damage to renters person, property, spectators and/or third parties. The following describe some but not all of the risks: dehydration, death, dismemberment, serious and/or crippling bodily injury, and property damage which may result from weather, rock and slides, animals, loose soil, steep terrain, equipment failure, automobile collisions and collisions with other cyclists, natural and manmade conditions.
  • Renter certifies that renter has sufficient health, accident, and liability insurance to cover any bodily injury or property damage renter may incur while participating in this inherently risky activity and to cover bodily injury or property damage caused to a third party as a result of renters participation in this activity. Renter certifies that if renter has no such insurance that renter is capable of personally paying for any and all such expenses or liability.
  • Renter acknowledges and understands bicycling entails known and unknown risks of injury, including but not limited to those outlined above. Renter will agree to freely and expressly assume and accept these risks releasing and holding harmless Trail Lovers Excursions LLC, the rental company involved, all the persons or entities involved with the rental company and Trail Lovers Excursions LLC, its officers, employees, agents, or representatives who might otherwise be liable to renter, renter's heirs, assigns, or spouse for damages, including those resulting from the negligence (including but not limited to intentional and/or reckless misconduct) of the rental bike company and Trail Lovers Excursions LLC, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliate companies, or acts of renter further agrees to exercise and appropriate care for the renters safety and the safety of others.
  • Renter voluntarily releases, forever discharges, and agrees to hold harmless and indemnify rental company and Trail Lovers Excursions LLC, its agents employees, and all other entities from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or rights of action, which are related to, arise out of, or are in any way connected with the bicycle rental, and renters participation in this activity, including, but not limited to, the negligent acts or omissions of rental company and Trail Lovers Excursions LLC, its agents, or employees, and all other persons or entities, for any and all injury, death, illness, or disease and damage to renter or renters property. Renter fully recognizes that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged while renting is engaged in bicycling activity, or related activities, renter will have no right to make claim or file a lawsuit against rental company and Trail Lovers Excursions LLC or its its officers, agents, or employees, even if they or any of them negligently (including, but not limited to intentional and/or reckless misconduct) cause the bodily injury or property.

If you have any questions regarding the waivers you will be required to sign for your proposed rentals and/or mountain bike tour, please contact us at (928)239-3638 to speak with our reservations team. To avoid any potential incurring of fees, we greatly encourage you to contact us by phone before booking your reservations, if you will have any issues signing waivers with the aforementioned release of liability for Trail Lovers Excursions LLC and rental companies furnishing your bike(s). Our office hours are 9AM -5PM MST everyday.
