If you’re as struck by the flow as you are in the show, this ride is perfect for you!! Riders will delight in the elevated panoramic vista views offered throughout this ride and it’s extraordinary rock features observed both above and along the trails. This unique loop starts along the mellow Bell Rock Pathway Trail, for an array of scrubalicious rollers, before transitioning into the more technical Bail Trail.
This section delivers some doable, but committing fortified rock bench climbs, and quick cornering to maneuver your way along the narrow path and across several large bands of slick rock. The trail drops you off at Llama Trail, where the real fun begins as the trail crosses several armored washes with steep climbs to test your technical uphill riding skills and commitment to your lines. With an abundance of hills and slick rock galore, this trail makes for some amazing photos of the surrounding Lee Mountain, Gibraltar Rock, Courthouse Butte, and Bell Rock.
After a roller coaster finish of hills and serpentine turns, the trail connects with Courthouse Butte Trail to eventually reconnect with Bell Rock Pathway Trail, and then Templeton Trail. This part of the ride hustles briefly uphill before blasting you down into a fun and loose shallow chasm as you pass under a few underpasses and reach the connection with Hermit Trail. This hidden and narrow pathway rides through moderate red rock moguls to transfer you across Yavapai Vista and over to Coconino Trail.
What begins as a rolling, uphill bermy trail, quickly elevates to fast flow and sweet views as you connect with Slim Shady Trail. This black diamond section of the ride is super classic, and takes you through a full assortment of red rock obstacles, with fully fortified rock plated passages over all the most difficult sections. The trail rides clean and fast and flowy before breaking into towering berms to allow you to keep your speed while approaching technical uphill climbs that lead to steep droppers and slickrock roll downs.
After enjoying some of the best flowy technical downhill in Sedona, the next stage of your adventure ascends Templeton Trail where more hills and fast-flowing riding keeps your dropper post in high demand. The trails begins a cascading ascent to one of the largest slickrocks in Sedona, and rides the lower section of Cathedral Rock, to eventually sit below the iconic red rock formation and gaze at its unique grandeur and towering spires.
The ride then switches to a punchy downhill with endless slickrock for a grippy descent into the rocky drainage and of Easy Breezy Trail. This area rides a faint and lesser known pump-tech section to pass through sandy washes and rocky bridges to deliver you back above to HT Trail. This trail will offer superb elevated views of the surrounding formations and provides some narrow sections with challenging terrain to keep you heads-up throughout. After crossing below some beautiful bridges above and pedaling through some steep and committing uphills, the trail reconnects with Bell Rock Pathway and cruises you back to the finish line.
This classic combination of trails provides oodles of technical features, a full mix of every type of riding you can find in Sedona, and some of the best views in Red Rock Country. It’s no wonder why this has quickly become the most popular ride among locals seeking a physically challenging flow ride with a healthy abundance technical black diamond features throughout.
