Are you looking to take a scenic and easy-to-moderate cruise below some of the most iconic rock formations in Sedona? This awe-inspiring loop will perfectly position you below the towering presence of Twin Buttes, Streaker Spire, Christianity Spire, Crown Butte, Gibraltar Rock, Lee Mountain, Courthouse Butte, Bell Rock, Castle Rock, and Cathedral Rock. The riding terrain will consist of a mix of flowy hills, steep fortified wash crossings, and cross country style throughout. The ride starts off from the famed Bell Rock Pathway, before taking the lesser travelled Bail Trail, to access Llama Trail. The transition between these three trails offers an abundance of playful terrain, climbable rock benches, and zig-zag turns to keep the riding fun and light-hearted.
Along Llama Trail, there will be a plethora of opportunities to shift into the big gears and access your need for speed along huge sections of glideable slick rock. The notable obstacles will include a succession of rock-plated technical climbs out of washes and an abundance of baby canyons. The magnitude of the surrounding rock formations reaches its climax as you approach Bell Rock and transfer to the adjoining Big Park Loop. This short and sweet loop circles below the shadow of Courthouse Butte and allows you to fall into flow and embrace the beauty of the natural landscape around you throughout.
The last stage of the loop doubles back along the base of Bell Rock to encounter a series of optional jumping opportunities and mellow riding pleasure back to your starting point. The relaxed feel of this loop and it’s mixture of doable technical features makes it a perfect ride for those seeking the next step out of easy riding and makes it a classic local favorite!
