THUNDER MOUNTAIN EXPRESS

Thump, THUMP.. Who's there? The Thunder Mountain Express is one of Sedona's most classic stop-to-drop cornering masterpieces. This thrilling one-way ride will have your dropper post working overtime, as you ascend technical uphills, drop steep ledges, and glide across long sections of slick rock. The ride will begin up the glorious black diamond rated Thunder Mountain Trail, which features loads of armored terrain features, a healthy supply of sneaky shark finned “catch me if you can” rocks, and repetitiously fast zig-zag turns -- to make for a wholesomely rich glove wetting experience for all attendees.

The next section of the ride, Teacup Trail,  opens up spectacular views of Thunder Mountain, Sugarloaf Rock, Summit Block Rock, and Coffee Pot Rock as it transitions to more “friendly and approachable” black diamond terrain in a wild descent of serpentine form to arrive at Jordan Trail. While for most not a dabless doozy, the switch-backed uphill technical climbs make this a fun physical challenge for everyone. The elevated perspectives of Sedona from this trajectory provide unique views of Secret Mountain Wilderness & Munds Mountain Wilderness, with a wondrous display of the entire eastern side of Red Rock Country before you.

After surviving the minor sufferfest of climbing and dropping and zigging and zagging and gripping and ripping… All that’s left to do, is have fun, and enjoy moderate flowy terrain through the Adobe Jack Area. Here you will enjoy the punchy and spunky downhill sections of Grand Central Trail, before using Crusty Trail to crawl your way to the rides conclusion. The last section of the ride really helps tie the trails together as it pays heavy dividends for all your labors and provides World-class views throughout with playful riding opportunities around every corner.
