Are you seeking a moderately challenging hills to thrills biking adventure that jukes and jives through the most velvety red rock trails in Sedona? Look no further than this sensational glory ride across and through the most winsome trails of the Adobe Jack Area. This fast-paced and action-packed ride will begin by ascending the escalating hills of Adobe Jack Trail, as it navigates through narrow cypress passages and later arrives at the Seven Sacred Pools.
The surrounding views will be charged with glorious observations of Eagle Rock, Devils Kitchen Sinkhole, The Sphinx, and Steamboat Rock. After connecting with Jordan Trail and forging through a series of steep rollers and drops, you will climb a series of technical rock benches, before engaging yourself in Ant Hill Loop. We’ve given this ride its name due to the erratic looping the trail will take at this time.
While the “Velvet Ant” is actually a wasp and not an ant, it’s mercurial behaviors and awkward movements make it one of the most entertaining creatures to observe in the Upper Sonoran Desert. You will loop and swoop and dish and dash your way through the trails fun terrain features before reconnecting to Jordan Trail with vengeance and momentum ablaze. The remaining drops and steady climbs of Jordan Trail, soon give way to one of Sedona’s best moderate downhills known as Javalina Trail or “Javy” by locals.
The cascading drops and seemingly pedaless riding of this section of the trail, makes for plenty of room for creativity. The trail crosses several washes and secure narrow passages to connect with Crusty Trail for an encore of hills, drops, edges, and ledges to soon reconnect back at your starting point. This ride has a playful and unique style, with a modern feel for new-age trail development and designed by and for thrill seeking moderate riders.
